From our Product Support Team: A Simple Way to Improve Baby-to-Software Communication

By Nate Schlieve, Realityworks Product Support Technician

RealCare® Baby users know how easy the latest version of Control Center Software makes programming and reporting on these infant simulators. However, what if your Baby is communicating with the Control Center and suddenly rejects your commands, gives you a status of “fail” or is or is stuck in “pending” or “report due?”

Caused by environmental interference (WiFi, walls, wireless communications, certain florescent lights, etc.), these communication errors seldom occur, but when they do, the solution is simple – and if you’re trying to retrieve data, you will not lose any of the information.

First, remove the Baby’s battery cover using your battery key. With the cover off, press down and hold on the black reset button (shown below, circled in red) for the count of five. Doing so will cause all of the lights to turn off. After a count of five, release the button. The lights will turn back on, and you can resend the command again.

If a communication error is encountered when sending or retrieving data, reset RealCare Baby by pressing and holding the reset button by Baby’s battery pack for 5 seconds.

    1. Thanks for contacting us! Sorry you are having some troubles. Please reach out to your instructor so they can use their software to check your simulation. Thanks again!
