Company recognized for creating welding simulators that develop skilled workers for state’s manufacturing sector
Eau Claire, WI – February 28, 2014 – Experiential learning technology company Realityworks, Inc. has received the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Special Award for Innovation Excellence. Designed to celebrate the success of manufacturers in the state and chosen by an independent panel of judges, this award honors Realityworks for their commitment to innovative products and programs that make a difference – specifically, the recent creation of their teachWELD Welding Simulator.
Developed to help educators address the need for skilled workers in manufacturing positions and beyond, these simulators are used in secondary and post-secondary educational environments to train workers with the skills they need to support Wisconsin’s manufacturing sector. The simulators encourage technical skills training in a safe and cost-effective manner while reducing the use of consumable resources for a training purpose.
Timm Boettcher, President of Realityworks, attended an awards banquet to honor the 34 nominees. The event was held at the Pfister Motel in Milwaukee, WI on Thursday and started at 5:30 pm with a cocktail reception and dinner. Accepting the award on behalf of Realityworks’ dedicated employees, Boettcher noted:
“The state depends on manufacturers to provide the economic foundation to our overall economy. This can only be done if our labor force is properly skilled. Our newest products, designed to create better and more effective welders, are aimed at eliminating the skills gap and strengthening our states and the nation’s manufacturing workforce.”
The Manufacturer of the Year Award program recognizes manufacturers of all sizes and industries for their contributions to the great state of Wisconsin. The winners were selected by judges representing industry, education and the public sector, and were awarded to nine Wisconsin companies in total.
