Common Welding Joints Kit

Use the curriculum and models in our Common Welding Joints Kit to teach students welding basics, such as how to identify the most common welding joints. Each kit includes both SMAW and GMAW coupon examples made of lightweight plastic. The included flashcards and curriculum address joint types, proper welding techniques, and how to prevent welding issues.

From butt joints to tee joints, the models in this kit give students an up-close look at 10 common welding joints. Students can also test their knowledge with the flashcards, which show an image of a joint on one side with its name, description, important points to remember, and helpful hints for SMAW and GMAW on the other side.

This kit’s included curriculum features two lessons on common welding positioning and identifying common welding joints. The complete curriculum takes one to two hours to complete. However, you can also select a specific lesson or activity to use in your current lesson plan. The downloadable curriculum comes with presentation slides and student activities aligned to Common Career Technical Core Standards.

Weld Defects Classroom Kit

Teach welding students how to identify and correct common weld defects with the portable, lightweight Weld Defects Classroom Kit. It contains 13 plastic models, depicting 12 of the most common welding defects as well as one quality weld. Use this engaging, hands-on teaching tool and curriculum to help your students understand how weld defects occur.

From undercut to arc strike, the included models give students a detailed look at 12 common welding defects. Students can study with the flashcards, which show an image of a defect on one side with its name, description, causes, and corrections on the other side. Additionally, the kit includes five posters that detail the different defects for you to hang up in your classroom.

This kit’s included curriculum features six lessons that cover welding basics, safety, types, techniques, defects, testing, review, and assessment.
