Although we offer over 150 hands-on training tools for various career and technical education programs, RealCare Baby®, our company’s flagship product, continues to soar in popularity. One way we can tell: social media. RealCare Baby makes for great social media. One only needs to conduct a quick Instagram, Twitter or TikTok search for #RealCareBaby (or #RobotBaby) to get an idea of just how extensive Baby’s online reputation is.
To celebrate the creative teachers who are working hard to engage their students in a post-COVID world, we’re sharing seven memorable times Baby has been featured on social media recently. Keep reading to see each post, plus a bonus video of our RealCare® Pregnancy Profile Simulator in action. (And as you review each of these photos, take a moment to appreciate the passionate educators behind every camera.)
Sarah Genenbacher (@lhs_gbach), FACS Teacher, Liberty High School, MO
From Sarah:
“I use the Babies to simulate a child care setting. In MO, our infant care ratio is 8:2. I turn on 8 babies and have 4 students care for them for a full class period. Then they have to accept or refute the state ratio after working at double it. (They always say 2 isn’t enough! 🤣)”
Erin Clifford (@bhsfacs365), FCS instructor, Bolingbrook High School, Illinois
From Erin:
“Our students gain hands-on knowledge of parenting that leaves a huge impact. The RealCare simulators allow young adults to experience firsthand newborn care techniques. Our students love that they can have autonomy during a weekend experience of parenting and apply techniques discussed in class to help them better prepare for the future.”
Joanie DuBois (@FCS_MrsDuBois), Bacon Academy, FCS teacher, Colchester, CT
From Joanie:
“The RealCare Babies are truly the cornerstone of my class in Child Development. Using the Babies, students get the experiential learning experience through the use of the infant simulators that I would not be unable to replicate in the classroom setting. They come away from this experience with their personal goals and responsibilities in focus, but really it’s their understanding and empathy toward what others go through during the parenting process that really impacts them.”
“Additionally, we are using the Pregnancy Profile Simulator this year that just continues to drive home the message of understanding what others go through, how you can be prepared for life decisions and the experience of understanding the physical toll pregnancy takes on one’ body. Being able to actually experience these events rather than being told what it’s like really elevates the level of learning for students.”
From Joanie:
Katelin Arseneau (@rchs_facs_of_life_), Comet FACS Teacher, Reed-Custer High School, Illinois
From Katelin:
“I know it teaches them responsibility because they take them for an extended amount of time. It’s not like babysitting for a few hours. They bring them everywhere, plan their schedules around the baby, wake up during the night… just like real parenthood! It’s the highlight of my course.”
Stacie Yokhana (@MsYokhana), Fraser High School, High School Family & Consumer Science Teacher, Fraser, MI
From Stacie:
“The RealCare Babies provide a parallel experience to having a real child. It’s obviously not real; however, the RealCare Baby cries, needs to be recognized by and cared for by the student (parent) who will at first really struggle to read the Baby’s proper care cues. The emotions and stress that come along with dealing with your school (work) day, and getting your daily tasks done and caring for a baby and sometimes feeling like you want to cry too are all very real parenting emotions. I’m glad that my students get to experience this class and this tool – it may be the only exposure and education they ever get before becoming a parent.”
Katherine White (@kwhite1993), Pickens High School CTAE Early Childhood Education Teacher, Georgia
From Katherine:
“The RealCare Baby 3 has provided my students with the opportunity to learn about caring for infants in a safe, meaningful way. My students clamor to be the first ones to take the Babies home and when they come back tired and say, ‘Wow, I didn’t know how much babies wake up at night.’ I feel confident they had a real-life experience!”
Ryan Radke (@RyanRadke316), FCS Teacher, Byron High School, Byron, MN
From Ryan:
“I’ve been using the Baby Think It Over and RealCare Babies through Realityworks for almost 20 years. Their Babies provides my students with a hands-on approach to being a parent. The lessons learned through their time with their child is super valuable in not only my class but in their lives as well.”

HELLO,
I am a Human Service teacher at a career and a tech school focusing on early childhood and community service lessons. My students are juniors and seniors. Most of our area schools are not offering FCS any more and with the pandemic we are limited to working with the community. A few years back I did engage a group of students with “Baby Think It Over”. I am interested in your program and would like some more information please. I feel this experience would be very valuable especially since we can’t have people in our classroom or go out to do our community serve lessons.
Hello, Marcia! Thanks so much for stopping by. We’d love to get you more information on RealCare Baby, and answer any questions you might have 🙂 I’ll pass your comment and details to our Account Services team, and someone will reach out shortly. In the meantime, of course, please feel free to contact us directly (information@realityworks.com or 1-800-830-1416). Thanks so much!
