Gen Z is considered the most entrepreneurial generation ever — in fact, this recent CNBC report found that almost two-thirds of Gen Z Americans want to start their own businesses. Many of the skills students learn through entrepreneurship lessons can lead them to success in any career path. Whether you’re a business teacher looking to add more hands-on activities to your lessons or a CTE instructor who wants to incorporate entrepreneurship and soft skills lessons into your class, these interactive design kits can help!
CTE Business Design Kits
Food Truck Design Kit
The Food Truck Design Kit challenges students to design their own food truck and plan all aspects of the business. This includes marketing, budgeting, and menu planning. Students can use the gridded whiteboard, marker, and furniture tiles to visualize how their food truck would look as they consider what layout would maximize efficiency. Use this kit as a fun, engaging activity in business or culinary classes, and to supplement any textbooks or curriculum already in use.

Child Care Center Design Kit
Our interactive Child Care Center Design Kit helps teach students best practices for laying out learning center rooms. Students will need to take literacy, health and safety, and play into consideration as they design their classroom. Early childhood education and entrepreneurship students can learn the logistics of creating a child care center with this kit. You can even work in child care career exploration with the included curriculum.

Animal Clinic Design Kit
The Animal Clinic Design Kit gives students practice researching and designing their own animal clinic. Students must think about the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), animal care, and best practices for clinic layout as they decide where kennels, exam tables, and other furniture will fit into their design. Animal science students can benefit from exploring the veterinary technician career and learning about the legal requirements of animal clinics. In turn, business students can practice researching, creating, and thinking about the legal issues involved in starting a business.

Incorporating Entrepreneurship Skills into Your Class
Our Contemporary Entrepreneurship Program is a great option for teaching entrepreneurship skills alongside your current curriculum. The program features vocabulary cards, student workbooks, and 10 lessons covering everything from the entrepreneurial process to pitching product ideas. It provides several educational, hands-on activities that any business or CTE teacher can easily work into their current lesson plan.
Furthermore, you can use the Contemporary Entrepreneurship Program alongside any of our design kits to take the activities further. The program teaches students about conducting market research and considering financial issues. Afterward, they can come up with marketing and budget plans for their food truck. Similarly, students can learn about the legal issues involved with starting a business using the entrepreneurship program. Then they can explore the AWA and other legal requirements involved in owning an animal clinic. After designing their child care center, students pitch their design to the class using what they learned from the entrepreneurship program.
