Are you concerned that one or more of your RealCare Baby infant simulators may have a sensitive head? Although this is uncommon, general wear and tear can occur over time, including the loosening of Baby’s head. If you are concerned that Baby is triggering head support failures too easily, there is a way you can test Baby’s head to verify whether it is within product specifications or if it does indeed have a loose head.
Test RealCare Baby’s Head Sensitivity
You’ll need:
- Baby, unplugged from charger
- An ID
- A Bottle
- A Diaper
Follow the step-by-step directions in this video:
The key to this test is the fact that RealCare Baby is designed to not trigger a head support failure solely because it was picked up gently by the shoulders without head support. If you have followed the above steps and confirmed that you cannot gently pick Baby up by the shoulders without triggering a head support failure, then the Baby will need to see “the doctor” – our Product Support Team!

I think I have been taking care of my baby quite good, but how can I tell the difference between a head support failure and fussy crying? I don’t think I’ve mishandled it’s neck, as it has never gone all the way back. Please help!
Hi Gloria, the head support failure cry will be a stronger cry than the fussy cry.
Try look up videos that show the different cries that it makes. I was worried about the same thing but the videos really helped me and you can really tell the difference once you’ve heard it.
Tried to run the maintenance check on my own. All she did was chime, coo and cough. Tried to find directions to start other care tests but got lost in all the info. Do not have any more time to search. Sorry. Please call 207-730-4857 when you can and help me out.
Thanks!
