Get Realistic Blood Pressure Assessment Practice with This Simulator

Join our email listObtaining an accurate and consistent blood pressure assessment is a vital skill for healthcare providers, making it important for health science students to get as much hands-on practice as possible. That’s why we created our Blood Pressure Simulator, an award-winning training tool used to teach and practice proper techniques for taking blood pressure prior to clinical experience. Let’s explore the unique features of this wearable learning aid.

Proper Blood Pressure Assessment Practice

This simulator distinguishes blood pressure sounds and Korotkoff phases. It teaches proper cuff and stethoscope placement with a safe, non-inflatable cuff. Students can check the pressure release rate and use the wrist pulse band for radial blood pressure assessment. Students can use the simulator on standardized patients or manikins to make practice scenarios even more realistic.

Practice and Assessment Modes

The Blood Pressure Simulator’s practice mode features infinite, random blood pressure assessment scenarios. This is great for independent practice in simulation labs. The test mode includes 10 default test values that are editable for instructor-chosen assessment values.

Blood Pressure Simulator Features

Cuff with Korotkoff Speaker

This simulator has a secondary skin under the cuff that transfers sound to a standard stethoscope. Placing the stethoscope over the secondary skin allows students to hear the five Korotkoff sounds based on the blood pressure assessment. You can play the Korotkoff sounds through a headset for yourself or through a speaker for the whole the class to hear.

Standards-Based Curriculum

The Blood Pressure Simulator comes with a downloadable, two-lesson curriculum. The curriculum covers patient-focused care and blood pressure assessment procedures. You can teach the entire curriculum in one to two hours or select a specific lesson or activity to incorporate into your current curriculum. It also comes with presentation slides and pre- and post-assessments.

Middle and High School Career Exploration

This simulator can be used for middle and high school career exploration. We recommend five simulators for a 20-student classroom. The Blood Pressure Simulator can help students explore careers in health science, sports medicine, and therapeutic and diagnostic services. The simulator also works well with our free career exploration lesson plans.
