As an Allied Health Teacher, the BP simulator is an awesome tool for students who are learning how to auscultate blood pressure while manipulating the sphygmomanometer. Students are able to practice limitlessly without having to take a break with an actual person. I also use this tool during recruitment events where the students work with the prospective students on how to auscultate blood pressure. I plan to order more to support my classroom in the near future.

I really enjoy this product. I teach a high school CTE nursing program and the students love it! It is a little confusing at first but this is the best simulator I have used.

  3. Sara Hansen

This is a good product to help students get an idea of how to take BP. It can be a bit hard to hear at times, but that happens when taking BP on other people as well. The radial pulse is great, as that can be difficult for students to find & the wrist strap makes it very easy to feel.

I have used the BP simulator several times. I have no complaints. Set-up was simple. The directions provided were easy to follow. My students found the practice mode simple for them to navigate. The Release Rate function was imperative helping my students that struggled with releasing pressure. Great product. I will definitely recommended this product to my colleagues.

  5. Christyn B.

I ordered this product as part of the implementation of a new EMT program. As a practicing Paramedic, I was not pleased and actually returned the product a couple days later. I had a difficult time hearing the sounds and getting the correct pressure myself. I would rather my students practice on each other and listen with a dual stethoscope so I can teach them. This is my personal opinion but I believe practicing on a human is a better option.

I really like this B.P. Simulator. My students can practice over and over using the manikin arm. In the past, they could only practice three times with a classmate. It is also perfect for our COVID policy in school. I really like the feedback it gives the students. Make sure you check out the curriculum that comes with it.

  7. Cynthia Quisenberry

The first simulator I received had some issues with sound (could not hear the BP sometimes and at other times you might be able to hear it). I contacted Reality Works and they have been wonderful. They helped me try to troubleshoot the simulator. They decided to send me a new simulator and a label to send back the simulator that had issues (I think there might have been a short in the wiring). The new simulator is working without any problem. Reality Works is an awesome company to work with and stands behind its product. The simulator is very simple to use and calibrate. A great way for students to practice taking and hearing BP’s.

  8. Sue Ellen

I only used the BP Simulator briefly before we transitioned to virtual, but here are some of the things that I liked about it: The instructor set-up was fairly simple with the directions provided. The practice mode for the students was simple for them to run through. The “Release Rate” function really helped the students that struggled with releasing the pressure either too quickly or too slowly. It was nice to have the opportunity for students to practice with multiple scenarios without having the teacher to enter or set something new each time. The students get the “feel” of taking an actual BP on their classmates, but without causing the discomfort so often associated with repeated practices. – Sue Ellen S., RN BSN, Health Science Instructor & HOSA Advisor, SC
