The Medical Terminology Class Kit teaches basic medical terminology while addressing visual, aural, reading/writing, and kinesthetic (VARK) learning styles. VARK modalities support personalized learning, which can help combat learning loss from the pandemic. With the variety of learning options included in this kit, no student will be left behind when learning this foundational health science topic.
Terminology Blocks for Kinesthetic Learners
This kit comes with 10 sets of color-coded blocks that students can use to create words. Green blocks are prefixes, orange blocks are suffixes, blue blocks are root words, and yellow blocks are combining vowels/symbols. There are a total of 131 basic medical terminology blocks in a set that can make over 700 terms.

Context Cards for Aural Learners
Printed and digital context cards are included in the class kit for aural learners. Students can read the 65 cards aloud or hear the digital cards read to them from a computer or smart device. The cards include paragraphs with basic medical terminology that allow students to hear the words used in a sentence.

Student Glossaries for Reading and Writing
The 20 student glossaries feature over 100 pages of basic medical terminology for students to write in their own definitions, plus several blank pages for students to add other words. Even if reading and writing isn’t every student’s preferred learning style, writing information down will still improve their ability to recall what they learned in the lesson. Once the glossary is complete, it becomes a great study tool that students can use to review the terms.

Vocabulary Cards for Visual Learners
This kit comes with 16 sets of printable and digital vocabulary flashcards for visual learners to memorize basic medical terminology. Students can use these to review the terms as a class, in small groups, or in pairs. The cards are organized by word part and body system, so you can easily focus review sessions on specific topics.

Ready-to-Use Curriculum
A downloadable curriculum comes with the kit, featuring 17 lessons on word parts and basic medical terminology for each body system. There are approximately 13 to 18 hours of teaching content in the curriculum that’s broken down into various focus, learn, and review activities. The curriculum comes with presentation slides as well as pre- and post-assessments that you can easily incorporate into your current lesson plan, if desired.
