Learning Through Real-World Challenges

Contemporary Entrepreneurship Program

Students are more engaged when they see how classroom learning connects to the real world. Entrepreneurship provides opportunities to apply concepts such as problem-solving, financial literacy, and innovation in meaningful ways. Yet many students struggle to connect classroom concepts to the way businesses and innovations operate beyond the classroom.

Throughout the program, students step into the role of entrepreneurs by identifying opportunities, researching customer needs, developing business plans, and pitching ideas. Along the way, they explore the kinds of questions entrepreneurs face every day: How do you know if an idea will succeed? Who is your target customer?

Answering these questions encourages students to move beyond memorizing business terms. They learn to evaluate information, make informed decisions, and communicate their ideas with confidence. Whether they eventually start their own business or join an established organization, they gain practical skills that prepare them for an evolving workforce.

Designed for Today’s Learners

This program is designed for middle and high school students who want to explore business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. It’s an excellent fit for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, business and marketing courses, career exploration classes, and other learning environments that emphasize real-world application.

Because the program is self-paced and activity-based, it supports a variety of learning styles while giving students opportunities to work independently and apply what they learn through hands-on projects. Whether students are interested in becoming entrepreneurs or simply want to build skills that transfer across industries, the program provides an engaging introduction to business and innovation.

From Business Idea to Business Pitch

The program brings entrepreneurship to life through interactive activities and real-world simulations. It’s a complete, ready-to-teach classroom unit that helps students explore what it takes to start and run a business.

Throughout the unit, students work through structured lessons that introduce key entrepreneurial concepts, including identifying opportunities, conducting market research, developing a business plan, and understanding financial and legal fundamentals.

The program includes ready-to-use curriculum materials, presentation slides, student workbooks, activities, and assessments, making implementation simple from beginning to end. It culminates in a final “Shark Tank”-style product pitch, where students present their own business ideas and apply everything they’ve learned in a real-world simulation.

Building Skills for Any Career

Building a successful business involves far more than creating a product or service. Throughout the program, students strengthen their ability to evaluate opportunities and develop solutions to real-world challenges.

They also build a strong foundation in market research, branding, financial literacy, business planning, and the decision-making processes that drive business success. Along the way, they explore how entrepreneurs make decisions about pricing, costs, and profitability, and how those choices influence long-term success.

By the end of the program, students understand not only how businesses operate but also how to think like innovators in any career path they choose.
