Eau Claire, Wis. (September 14, 2022) – Realityworks, Inc. announces that their new RC Tractor Pull Challenge (5-pack) with Pulling Sled has been named a finalist in the 6th Annual Tech Edvocate Awards. Selected by a panel comprised of edtech thought leaders, teachers, administrators and parents, the RC Tractor Pull Challenge was recognized in the Best STEM/STEAM Education App or Tool category.
“We created our RC Tractor Pull Challenge to help Career & Technical Education instructors get more students interested in STEM concepts, as such knowledge will ultimately make today’s students more employable and ready for the future workforce,” said Realityworks President & CEO Timm Boettcher. “We’re honored that this internally developed product was recognized by an organization dedicated to promoting innovation in education.”
A tractor pull is an excellent phenomenon through which to study friction, gravity, normal force and more. The sled used in the tractor pull is designed to gradually increase resistance, which allows varying endpoints based on the strength of the pull. The tractor and sled system offer an interesting – and fun – STEM challenge that can be adapted for any class to explore science concepts simply or at a more mathematically sophisticated level.
Realityworks’ RC Tractor Pull Challenge includes a set of 5 tractors, RC remotes, and a variety of components to adjust on each tractor: washer weights, pinion and spur gears and tires. Larger weights are also included for the pulling sled. Teachers can use the accompanying lessons to introduce students to the concept of a tractor pull, configuration, gears and tires, and weight and friction.
Realityworks’ RC Tractor Pull Challenge is part of a line of 21st Century training tools designed to get today’s students interested in high-demand careers and provide more effective training opportunities while improving classroom management. Named the Overall Career Prep Company of the Year by the EdTech Breakthrough Awards, Realityworks offers learning tools and curricula for a variety of programs, including agriculture, trade skills, Family & Consumer Sciences, health science and more.
