Meet Kati Stacy, Realityworks Marketing Communication Coordinator. Kati has been with Realityworks for a little over 4.5 years and has many responsibilities. She plays a huge role in editing curriculum, making guides for new products and updating existing products. Additionally, she is responsible for creating photos and videos for all products that are used for catalogs, guides, our website and much more.
“I have a few different main tasks I take on at Realityworks,” said Kati. “One of the major ones is working with the product development process. I coordinate with the testing and engineering teams to take initial product photos, develop guides and labels, edit curriculum, and create product videos. I take additional photos and create other videos for use on the website, social media and catalogs.”
Kati gets to work with the products firsthand and has helped develop over 50 new products since she started. She can’t pick just one, but for right now she would say that the new Plant Mini Hydroponics System Class Pack is her favorite.
“It is hard to just choose one product! One of my recent favorites is the Plant Mini Hydroponics unit,” said Kati. “I think it’s a great tool to get students learning about plant growth and it’s nice because it’s pretty portable and easy to set up. Modern food management and growth practices are going to become more important than ever in the coming years, and I think tools like this will help students to see what is possible.”
Over the past year, Kati has adjusted from working in the office full-time to working from home.
“I work from home almost full-time. Typically, I’m in the office one day a week for meetings and product photography/videography. It took a while to get used to working from home, but I do enjoy the short commute most days. I have become better about logging off at the end of the day and setting work aside to focus on things at home.”
When Kati isn’t at work, she enjoys spending her time outside as much as possible especially when it’s warm weather.
“My favorite activity outside of work is being out on the trails either biking, hiking, or running, which I haven’t been able to do much yet this year!” said Kati. “I also enjoy being at the lake with my daughter and partner, spending time on the water and soaking in the sun when it’s warm enough to.”
There have been many memories made over the past 4.5 years, Kati would say her most memorable moment is when our RealCare Baby® infant simulators appeared on an episode of Chicago Med.
“One fun part about my job is applying for awards for our company and products and seeing that recognition come in!” said Kati. “We have so many cool and innovative tools and people are really starting to see and understand that. I also used to work with media companies that want to use our products for shows. I once coordinated 20 of our RealCare Babies to be used in a parenting class on Chicago Med.”
