5 Reasons We Love Our New Online Employability and Leadership Soft Skills Programs

When we created our paper-based RealCareer™ Employability Skills Program 5 years ago, we did so to make it easier for teachers to address those key soft skills that all students need to succeed in future careers. Now, we’re excited to announce the availability of a new Online Employability Skills Program and Online Leadership Soft Skills Program. Whether you’re teaching online or in person this year, we think you’ll love these new programs. Reason #1: Programs are now available in paper-based and online formats

Many classrooms across the country look vastly different than they did at this time last year. Some teachers are educating students in person, some teachers are educating students online… and many teachers are doing both. You can use our paper-based and online soft skills training tools to give your students real-life soft skills practice opportunities no matter what your classroom looks like this year.

Reason #2: Scenarios and activities are based on real life

As an educator who uses our RealCare Baby infant simulator recently told us, “you have to make your lessons relevant to the kid and meet them where they are. Kids aren’t going to want to learn from you and won’t be interested in learning if it doesn’t mean something to them.” Subject matter experts wrote the scenarios and activities in both our online and paper-based soft skills training tools. They referenced their own experiences and turning them into situational learning experiences for students.

Reason #3: Students get certificates of completion

There’s no better way to celebrate a job well done – and in this case, valuable skills learned – by providing students with certificates of completion following their hard work. Students who complete both our online and paper-based employability and leadership programs receive tangible certificates of completion that they can then show potential employers to show mastery of important soft skills. These certificates can also be a key part of graduation portfolio requirements set forth by some school districts.

Reason #4: Programs include the top soft skills industry professionals feel today’s students need to be better in the workplace

Our Employability skills Program targets the 19 soft skills students need the most to be employable. Our Leadership Soft Skills Program targets the 18 Leadership Skills students need most to be successful. All of these skills were selected because research shows these are the top skills today’s students are lacking. By emphasizing the importance of these particular skills with your students, you’ll boost their chances for successful employment in the future.

Reason #5: These programs can be integrated into all CTE areas to help prepare tomorrow’s leaders

Whatever career path your students choose, they’ll need employability and leadership skills to succeed. Skills like critical thinking, teamwork, time management and honesty are essential in so many professional settings. We designed these programs for use in any CTE classroom. What’s more, they’re usable as standalone courses or as supplements to existing lesson plans
