Can you use fluids with this Multipurpose Venous Training Arm?
Yes! You can add distilled water or saline to the included FAST-fluid™ management system. To represent blood, tint fluid with red food coloring or use a mixture of simulated blood with distilled water or saline. The FAST-fluid™ management system allows you to use artificial blood to prime the veins and practice locating the arm’s veins to prepare for a blood draw. The arm provides realistic flashback during procedures. Saline or water are recommended for intramuscular injections.

Use this training arm to practice venipuncture, intravenous insertion, IV medication administration and intramuscular injection procedures.
What additional items are needed to ensure all features of this product are used to their full potential?
Your typical lab items such as syringes, hand sanitizer, gloves, sharps container, gauze, etc. will ensure students experience the full simulation experience.
Is the skin replaceable?
Yes! This unique FAST-derm replacement skin is easily removed and replaced with ease due to the Velcro running the length of the arm. The arm comes with 2 skins: one already on the arm and one replacement skin. More detailed information is outlined in the Quick Start Guide included with the Multipurpose Venous Training Arm. The FAST-derm™ Replacement Skin can be ordered here.
How do I clean and care for this training arm?
Detailed cleaning and storage instructions are included in the product Quick Start Guide. General cleaning duties include emptying the liquid from the FAST-fluid™ management system, flushing the system with clean water, wiping the training arm with warm water, pat drying and storing in a dry, non-sunlit, area.
How many training arms would you recommend for a 20-student classroom?
